Case Study
ForHousing offers Housing Perks to its 17,000 tenants in the West Midlands.
Council Perks is a cost of living support solution for UK residents supported by their local authority.
Resident can save money on their everyday spending or pay council tax as they shop and receive hardship payouts.
The app is free to use and discounts are on the essentials that they use every day. Residents can save up to 20% using the app by paying with vouchers and discount codes. Residents can receive free items too.
When a resident spends £100 at a supermarket for their weekly shop using the Council Perks app, we automatically put £5 towards their council tax at no cost to them. This works at hundreds of national retailers we've partnered with including all the major supermarkets. The transaction can be for virtually any amount and we put up to 20% of the transaction towards their council tax.
This is the first and only solution of its kind for local authorities. Residents can easily cover their minimum payment towards arrears every week by using the app to pay for their essentials. For resident not in arrears, they can ease the load by reducing their council tax.
Makes total sense for budgeting if you’re like me, love spending and always run out by the end of the month. Just grab a £250 supermarket voucher (or whatever amount), get a bit off, and dip into it whenever you need to shop. Boom, brilliant. No more end of month “lend us a twenty” texts to my sister!
Do you have a hardship fund which you use to send residents in financial hardship vouchers? You can use the Council Perks Hardship Plus web application. With it you can send residents vouchers for food, electricity, mobile phones and much more. Residents can even choose which supermarket brand they want to use their voucher at. You receive a discount on every voucher you send to your residents and can track their usage in real time.
